Mechanism

-  Block conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II

 

Indications

-  HTN

-  DM nephropathy

-  CCF

-  Left ventricular hypertrophy

 

Drugs

-  Ramipril (Tritace)

-  Captopril

-  Enalapril

-  Perindopril (Coversyl)

 

Side Effects

-  Hypotension

-  Cough: persistant & dry

-  Trial of ARB

-  Hyperkalaemia

-  Headhace

-  Dizziness

-  Fatigue

-  Nausea

-  Renal impairment

 

Contraindications/Precautions

-  Renal artery stenosis

-  Impaired renal function (ARF, CRF)

-  Pregnancy

 

Dose

-  HTN

-  Perindopril erbumine 2-8mg daily

-  Ramipril 1.25-10mg daily

-  Enalapril 2.5-40mg daily

-  Lisinopril 2.5-40mg daily
