Definition

• Compression injury to distal radius
• Also known as a torus injury

Features

• Disruption of cortical bone occurs with only minimal compromise of the bones integrity

• X-Ray
• Ensure all corticies are intact in all planes of view AP and lateral

Management

• Splint for 3 week
• Below elbow backslab
• Or removable wrist splint
• Generally no follow up review or x-ray is required
