-  Prutitus: lymphoma, myeloproliferative disorders

-  Gastrointestinal surgery: pernicious anaemia

-  Racial origin: thalassaemia, pernicious anaemia, sickle cell disease

-  Inhereted diseases: thalassaemia, von Willebrands disease, sickle cell disease

-  X-linked: haemophillia A/B, G6PD deficiency

-  Pallor: anaemia

-  Jaundice: haemolytic anaemia

-  Purpura: thrombocytopaenia

-  Palpable: vasculitis

-  Non blanchable

- Sweating: lymphoma, leukaemia

- Skin cancer/pigmented lesion: BCC, SCC, Melanoma

 

 

 

  

Haematological Upper Limb Exam

 

-  Lymph nodes: lymphoma, leukaemia

-  Tachycardia: anaemia

-  Glove & stocking paresthesia: vit B12 deficiency

-  Koilonychia: IDA, RA

-  Pale palmar creases: anaemia

-  Hess test

 

 

 

  

Haematological Head & Neck Exam

 

-  Neutropaenic ulcers

-  Glossitis: iron or folate deficiency

-  Hypertrophic gums: AML

-  Bleeding gums: bleeding diathesis

-  Sclera

-  Icteric: haemolytic anaemia

-  Injected: polycythemia

-  Conjunctival pallor: anaemia

 

Neck

- Pharyngeal lymphadenopathy: non-Hodgkins lymphoma

- Lymph nodes

-  Sternal bone, spinal, rib pain: leukaemia, MM

 

 

 

  

Haematological Abdominal Exam

 

-  Para-aortic lymph nodes

-  Testicular exam: masses

-  PR: bleeding diathesis, Ca

-  Splenomegaly

-  Hepatomegaly

 

 

 

  

Haematological Lower Limb Exam

   

-  Calf tenderness: DVT

-  Pedal oedema: R heart failure

-  Radio-femoral dealy: coarctation of arota

-  Calf tenderness: DVT

-  Glove & stocking paresthesia: vit B12 deficiency

-  Homans Sign
