Frequency

-  BD, TDS, QID doe not necessarily mean 12/24, 8/24 or 6/24

-  Especially for Abx write hours to get appropriate coverage

-  BD or BID = 2 times daily

-  TDS or TID = 3 times daily

-  QD or QID = 4 times daily

-  Mane = morning

-  Nocte = night

-  Daily = 1 per day

-  PRN (pro re nata) = when required

-  STAT = immediately

 

Route

-  PO = oral

-  IV = intravenous

-  S/C = subcutaneous

-  IM = intramuscular

-  Inh = inhaled

-  Neb = nebuliser

-  Top = topical

-  PR = per rectum

-  BE = both eyes

 

Other

-  AC (ante cibum) = before food

-  PC (post cibum) = after food

-  MQ = maximum quantity
