-  Origin: thoracic cage

-  Insertion: scapula and/or clavicle

-  Action: movement of the pectoral girdle

 

 

 

 

Posterior Group

Features

-  Origin: vertebral column

-  Insertion: scapula and/or clavicle

-  Action: movement of the pectoral girdle

-  Trapezius lies most superficial

-  The remainder (levator scapular, rhomboid major and rhomboid minor) lie in the same plane immediately deep to trapezius. These muscles all align with their origins along the medial border of the scapula

 

Muscles of the Posterior Group of the Pectoral Girdle

-  (1) Trapezius

-  (2) Rhomboid Major

-  (3) Rhomboid Minor
