Description

Contraindications

-  Obstructive uropathy

-  Untreated angle closure glaucoma

-  Bowel obstruction

-  Paralytic ileus

-  Toxic megacolon

-  Severe colitis

-  Myasthenia gravis

 

Indications

-  Urinary urge incontinence (detrusor overactivity)

-  Hyperhydrosis

 

Side Effects

-  Dry mouth

-  Urinary difficulty

-  Constipation

-  Blurred vision

-  Drowsiness

-  Dizziness

-  Delerium

 

Dose

-  Tablet, patch or topical gel

-  PO 5mg BD-TDS (max QID)

-  Elderly 2.5mg BD+

-  +/- 1/2 dose for first 2/52

-  Patch = 3.9mg/24hrs, apply twice weekly
