Clinical Relevance

-  Pudendal nerve block

 

Pathway

-  Nerve truck 1cm proximal to ischial spine

-  Passes anterior & inferior

-  Divides

-  Inferior rectal: EAS, perianal skin

-  Perineal nerve: perineal muscles, skin of labia & vestibule

-  Dorsal nerve of clitoris/penis: clitoris or penis

-  Trunk passes posterior to junction of ischial spine & sacrospinous ligament

-  Lies medial to internal pudendal vessels

-  Site of nerve block

-  Close proximity to posterior femoral cutaneous nerve
