Indication

-  Gastric bypass for obesity

-  Reconstruction following partial or complete gastrectomy

-  Hepaticojejunostomy (Kasai) or Choledocojejunostomy to treat bile duct obstruction

 

Procedure

-  Anastomosis of distal divided jejunum to stomach, bile duct, or another structure

-  Implantation of proximal end of stomach to the side of the jejunum distal to first anastomosis

-  Bowel then formis a Y-shaped pattern

-  Gastric Bypass: Dumping syndrome (rapid gastric emptying)
